Shared mobility
Shared mobility has become very popular in Antwerp in recent years. Shared bikes started as far back as 2011 with the launch of the Velo city bikes.
After shared bikes and cars came electric shared mopeds, electric shared scooters, and electric shared cargo bikes. In addition to permanent parking spaces, shared mobility in the city also includes free-floating systems where users have to leave their vehicles in drop-off zones and virtual hubs. The city of Antwerp now has just under 10,000 shared vehicles.
